Mary Williams Appointed Shasta County Acting CEO

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors named Mary Williams as Acting County Executive Officer (CEO), effective February 1, 2023, until the position is filled to ensure continuous County operations while the recruitment for a regular CEO proceeds. Current Acting CEO Patrick Minturn’s contract expires on January 31, 2023.  He has decided to retire and not to extend the terms of his contract.

Mary E. Williams has been employed with Shasta County since 2015. She began her County employment as an Administrative Board Clerk and has worked her way up to her current position as Deputy County Executive Officer. She has over 6 years of experience within the County Administrative Office and Clerk of the Board Office, has a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration/Business Administration and a Master's degree in Public Administration.
