The Superior Court of California, County of Shasta, is set to transition to its new courthouse at 1515 Court Street starting January 25, 2024. Conveniently located just across the street from the current courthouse, this move is part of an effort to enhance our facilities.
During the initial phase from January 25 to February 7, 2024, supplies and older court files will be smoothly relocated, without impacting courtrooms or staff. From February 7 to February 13, most civil cases will be moved, affecting the temporary closure of the Civil Clerk's Office. We appreciate your cooperation in limiting business with this office until it reopens in the new building on February 13, 2024, at 8:30 a.m.
On February 13, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., the new courthouse will officially open its doors for various cases, including juvenile cases, Small Claims, Probate, Family Law, Guardianship, Appeals, the Self-Help Center, and more.
The last phase, starting February 14 and concluding on February 20, 2024, will see the relocation of operations associated with criminal cases, mental health, traffic, and court collections. We appreciate your patience during this period, anticipating some disruption to in-person, telephonic, and electronic access.
To mark this significant transition, a public dedication of the new Redding courthouse is planned for a date still to be determined in the Spring. Watch for that announcement abd be ready to mark your calendars and join us in celebrating this milestone in Shasta County. Your understanding and cooperation are crucial as everyone adapts to the new surroundings and systems in the modern courthouse.
