Did you know, Shasta County Fire Department is a community-based volunteer organization of approximately 250 members located in 19 Shasta County Locations? These men and women make a huge difference by supporting our community.
Shasta County contracts with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) to administer and integrate the two organizations into one cohesive group. This provides a greater force of firefighters and equipment to respond to all types of emergencies throughout Shasta County.
Recently, the Shasta County Fire Recruit Academy concluded their 11 weekends of training for new volunteer firefighters from Shasta County Fire Department, Mountain Gate Volunteer Fire Department 41, Happy Valley Fire Department 44, and Shasta Fire Department 56.
At the conclusion of their final weekend, each company performed live fire training. Once their training was completed, they returned to their respective fire departments and districts as full first responders.
We're proud of their dedication and commitment to serving our community.
