Last week, Shasta County had the opportunity to celebrate one of our most valued resources—our employees. Through a series of themed activities and a culminating Employee Appreciation Day at Anderson River Park, we were proud to recognize and thank the individuals who make County government function every day.
Throughout the week, County offices were energized with creativity and spirit as employees participated in daily themes—ranging from favorite team apparel and crazy socks to music genre day and decades day. These lighthearted activities offered a chance for staff to express their personality and build camaraderie with colleagues, highlighting the unique culture that makes Shasta County a rewarding place to work.
The week concluded with Employee Appreciation Day on Saturday at Anderson River Park. Employees and their families enjoyed a day of connection and celebration, featuring booths hosted by local vendors and businesses, family-friendly activities such as cornhole and face painting, and complimentary meals from a variety of local food trucks. It was a meaningful opportunity to show our appreciation in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
While events like these are fun, they also play a valuable role in fostering a positive workplace culture, strengthening interdepartmental relationships, and reinforcing how much we value our team. Most importantly, they reflect our ongoing gratitude for the vital work our employees perform in service to the residents of Shasta County.
To every Shasta County employee—thank you. Your dedication and professionalism make a lasting difference, and we are truly grateful for your contributions.
Sincerely,
David J. Rickert
