Shasta County proudly recognizes Jessica Roi, Social Worker with the Behavioral Health and Social Services (BHSS) Branch of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA), as the June 2025 Employee of the Month.
Jessica began her services with Shasta County in June 2023 as an experienced Social Worker, bringing forth expertise from a similar role in another county. She did not hesitate to jump in an learn Shasta County policies and procedures. One task, in particular, included transitioning from completing visits via telephone, to home visits. Jessica has not only accepted the challenge without hesitation, but she has excelled at overcoming challenges while solving problems creatively and independently.
In her current role, Jessica works in Adult Protective Services (APS), which can be stressful. She maintains a calm and patient demeanor while managing her caseload with seeming ease. She allows clients to voice their opinions and concerns, while often going the extra mile to help recipients and make sure they feel heard. Jessica is support of both her clients and coworkers, treating them with respect and kindness in every interaction.
Jessica has referred to her experiences with APS as working with some of the most vulnerable individuals and acknowledges how imperative it is to work with seniors in the community. She is recipient/client driven, finding as many resources as she can to assist her clients, and she makes sure to share those resources with her coworkers, so they can do the same.
