Veterans Service Representatives are thoroughly trained and accredited by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to represent you. Shasta County Veterans Services Representatives are not employees of the federal government, they are county employees ready to assist you with any Veterans claim.

Veterans Benefits:

  • Comprehensive benefits counseling
  • Claims preparation and submission
  • Claims follow-up to ensure final decisions are fully and correctly adjudicated 
  • Initiate and develop all appeals 
  • Networking and advocacy with federal, state and local agencies

Community Partnerships:

Our Veterans Representative Team files the following legal correspondence:

  • Compensation (service-related injuries or disease).
  • Re-open compensation claims for increase or re-evaluation.
  • Survivors and Widow Benefits
  • (Assess for housebound / Aid & Attendance) 
  • Nonservice-connected pension (for war era veterans only).
  • Request for DD-214, Medals & Certificates.
  • Discharge upgrade and correction of military records.
  • Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Process all CalVet College Fee Waivers
