The Shasta County District Attorney Bureau of Investigation’s primary role is to conduct investigations to support criminal prosecution. Investigators assist prosecuting attorneys with criminal cases such as homicide, rape, stalking, robbery, sexual assault, and many more through collection of additional evidence.
Bureau Investigators partner with numerous local, state, and federal agencies to combat crimes such as human trafficking, federal firearms violations, high tech crime, child pornography, and illegal drug activity. Members of the Bureau of Investigations are also sought out to investigate specialized crimes like large scale embezzlement, real estate fraud, voter fraud, and child abduction cases.
Investigators from the District Attorney’s Office are part of a multi-agency team of law enforcement professionals who investigate law enforcement use of force incidents and we are proud to be one of the founding members of the Shasta County Strangulation program.
