Meet the Assessor

Leslie Morgan

Shasta County Assessor-Recorder, Leslie Morgan is a lifelong resident of Shasta County. After graduating from Enterprise High School, Leslie got her AA in Business from Shasta College and then went on to California State University, Chico, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an option in Accounting. In addition, Leslie holds an "Advanced Appraiser Certificate" issued by the California State Board of Equalization.

Leslie began with the Shasta County Assessor-Recorder’s office in 1995 as an Auditor-Appraiser. On November 7, 2006, Leslie was elected Assessor-Recorder. In her commitment to Shasta County, Leslie represents the Assessor and Recorder departments with her active involvement in the California Assessors’ Association, and the County Recorders’ Association of California. Leslie has been a member of the Board of Directors for the County Recorders Association of California since September 2007. Leslie has also served as Bill Leonard’s appointee to the Timber Advisory Committee of the State Board of Equalization since April of 2008. Active in legislative ad-hoc committees for the California Assessors’ Association, Leslie also takes an active role in providing awareness and understanding to our state representatives as to the needs of the department.

Leslie is committed to professional assessments and recordings while maintaining respectful and courteous taxpayer service. She has dedicated herself to the taxpayers of Shasta County, and her education and experience have given her the tools to serve our community as the Assessor-Recorder.
