Employee of the Month - Aug '23

Jacob Lingle Employee of the Month August 2023

Jacob Lingle, Social Worker Supervisor I, has been named the Shasta County Employee of the Month for August 2023.

Prior to Jacob joining the Behavior Health and Social Services Branch of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) he was an Interim HHSA Program Manager in the Opportunity Center (OC). Once Jacob was placed in the vital position of Program Manager, he was non-stop. He jumped right in to manage the OC operations and ensure the wellbeing of both staff and clients.

Jacob was constantly planning, organizing, and anticipating upcoming changes. During the changes that were happening with the OC he consistently kept his Director and Deputy Director apprised of evolving situations in a timely and clear fashion. Jacob’s integrity and honesty are evident in his professional demeanor. He has a unique ability to balance empathy while understanding the needs of others. He is diligent, respectful to his peers, senior management, clients, and their families. Jacob is always ready to contribute, morning, noon, and night (and often has). He collaborates with numerous community partners and agencies which is always well received.  Jacob is known throughout HHSA for his ethical behavior as he is honest and forthright, while also kind and empathetic. Jacob embodies the very concept of teamwork. He consistently contributed to the Economic Mobility Branch Administration Team, the OC team, as well as working with community partners such as Far Northern Regional Center (FNRC), and the many OC contractors. Jacob accepted the Social Worker Supervisor position in the Behavior Health and Social Services (BHSS) Crisis Residential and Recovery Center (CRRC) to prepare for the closing of the OC. Before the OC closed Jacob split his time between the OC and the CRRC. He did this professionally and efficiently, keeping up with his OC duties and assisting the CRRC staff to prepare for an audit in mid-May.

During an extremely challenging and turbulent time, Jacob has been trustworthy, discreet, forthright, and downright hardworking. He has maintained a positive attitude and has provided direction and emotional support to his staff and clients even when he may have needed it himself. Jacob has now fully transitioned into the Social Worker Supervisor position at the CRRC and we look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on that program. Jacob is an outstanding County employee, and a valued member of our community.

Congratulations Jacob! Thank you for all of your hard work and service to our community.
