Hat Creek Park

Hat Creek Park provides public access to catch and release fly-fishing. The park is a day use facility that provides a roadside rest area, picnic area, or a place to view nature and wildlife. Don't forget to stop and cast your fishing line the next time you are traveling on 299E.

The Fall River Valley is situated 75 miles east of Redding, California on State Route 299E. It is surrounded by Lassen Volcanic National Park, Shasta-Trinity and Modoc National Forests, McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial Park and various wildlife viewing areas.

The Fall River Valley offers recreational opportunities such as championship golf, camping, hiking, hunting, and fly-fishing. Driving on Highway 299 you can see Hat Creek flowing along the highway. Hat Creek was designated a wild trout stream in 1967.

Fly-fishermen can test their catch and release skills in this premier stream. Due to water clarity and constant temperature and creek flows, fly-fishing is available year round.
