Pit River Tribe/Burney Tóólol ittʰú maníkcan Walking + Biking Network
Background Information
The Pit River Tribe/Burney Tóólol ittʰú maníkcan Walking + Biking Network is a community-wide project to create a low-stress, interconnected, active transportation network in Burney. The word Tóólol ittʰú maníkcan means “All My Children” in Achumawi, a native language of the Pit River Tribe. This is a fitting name, as the project will connect homes to tribal facilities, several schools, and recreational facilities, among other locations. The project includes a network of shared-use path (SUP) facilities throughout the community, associated crossing improvements, and traffic calming including along State Route 299/Main Street. The Tóólol ittʰú maníkcan Walking + Biking Network is still in active development, and subject to change as new needs are identified or community input is received.
