Modeling
Children who view family violence are learning how to solve problems, deal with relationships and life. These children tend to be more aggressive and have problems in school, relationships and in all other aspects of life.
Low Self-Esteem
Children's identity and feelings about themselves are dependent upon their parents and how they behave towards each other. You and your partner are your children's self esteem. When you act poorly or when you tear your partner down, you are destroying how they feel about themselves. Seeing family violence affects how your children feel about themselves, their world and their future relationships.
Lost Childhood
Have your children parented you or younger siblings when they should be living and enjoying their childhood?
Shame
How often do your children have to lie to teachers, friends or family about how their life is going? Are your children proud to have you as a parent?
Isolation
Children become isolated because they fear bringing friends or others over to their home.
