As Shasta County continues to actively work to solve jail staffing and capacity challenges, check this site and our social media platforms for a series of videos and information on issues specific to the jail. 

This week, we sit down for a discussion with three members of our Jail Command Staff to learn about what qualities are desirable in a candidate for a Correctional Deputy. As you will hear, many types of people from all walks of life can hand a great career in corrections!

Shasta County will soon have a new courthouse. With that new location, a different way to transport inmates from the Shasta County Jail to court appearances will become necessary. In week three of our series looking at the jail, we talk with Shasta County Undersheriff Brian Jackson about the work that went into coming up with this revised process, and how it will impact jail operations and staffing.
