CalFresh, also known as SNAP, is a federal nutrition program that helps people with low or no income purchase healthy food. Benefits are issued on an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card that can be used at most grocery stores and farmers' markets.
To receive CalFresh benefits, your household income and resources must meet certain limits. The amount of CalFresh benefits your household may be eligible for is determined by income and family size.

Applying for CalFresh is easy!
You can provide an application online through BenefitsCal, or by filling out a paper application and providing it in person, by mail or by fax. Learn details on how to apply.

Applications can be received at any the Regional Offices or by contacting the Customer Service Center for more information.
Regional office locations are open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in:

- Downtown Redding (California Street)
- Enterprise
- South Redding (Breslauer Way)
The Customer Service Center (1-877-652-0731) is open from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Replacement Benefits for Continuing CalFresh Households
Continuing CalFresh Households can request CalFresh Replacement Benefits when the household experiences food loss due to a general household misfortune or a disaster.
To make the request follow the below steps:
- Within 10 days complete the Replacement or Disaster Supplement Affidavit (CF 303) form.
- This form can be completed on BenefitsCal.com, over the phone by contacting the Customer Service Center (1-877-652-0731) or printed and mailed, faxed, or dropped off to one of our Regional Offices.
- On the CF 303 provide details about the loss such as what kind of event led to the food loss, and the estimated value of lost or spoiled food.
- Verification of the event is required. For many disasters or misfortunes such as power outages and fires our office is often able to verify the event through local news reports, weather reports or power outage records.
Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT)
If you are an EBT cardholder and receive a text, call or email asking for your card number, PIN or any personal info, do NOT provide it. If you believe your benefits were stolen because of EBT card skimming or from a scam, you may be able to get the benefits replaced. Learn more.
