Local food resource lists

Several local programs offer meals and groceries to help people living in Shasta County meet their basic food needs.

Note — please call the program or food site before going to a location in any of the resource lists on this page.

Help with finding resources

Shasta HHSA’s Community Health Advocates (CHAs) can help with referrals to resources, such as:

  • Health care
  • Food
  • Utility assistance
  • Housing

Call (530) 225-5285 or email cha [at] shastacounty.gov (cha[at]shastacounty[dot]gov) to get connected. Please make an appointment for faster service. There are CHAs located in Regional Services Offices in Redding, Anderson and Burney.

Donating to a food bank

For those interested in donating to food banks or programs, money gifts offer the most efficient help. Call locations to confirm that they are accepting donations, what the drop off hours are, and what food items are needed.
