The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) protects people with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities, as well as others with serious health limitations (42 U.S.C. § 12132).
If you have a disability that makes it hard for you to apply for benefits or meet program requirements, you have the right to request and receive extra help without the need to give us your medical papers/proof of your condition.
In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"), the Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.
