Teens and Young Adults

As a teen or young adult, it can be hard caring for your mental and physical health. Shasta County Public Health provides free services, education and community support.

Mental wellbeing

The Shasta Kind Mind and You Matter Shasta programs support youth mental wellbeing. You will find self-care, education, community support and suicide prevention resources.

Alcohol, tobacco and drug use

Public Health works to prevent substance use and link people struggling with addition to support or treatment.

Reproductive health and STIs

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are common and often have no symptoms. Getting tested is the best way to know if you have an STI.

Shasta County Public Health offers free and safe STI testing and treatment for youth 12 years of age and older. Services are available at our clinic and through the CommUNITY Mobile Care Clinic.

Pregnancy and parenting

Public Health offers pregnancy and parenting support to families and individuals of all ages. Services include breast feeding support, nutrition education, help finding prenatal care, and mental health resources.

Local Oral Health Program

A healthy smile makes for a happy person. Brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing once a day can benefit your health and wellbeing.

The Local Oral Health Program helps you care for your teeth and find a dentist in your area.

Level up your health with vaccines

Vaccines help protect you from getting sick and they’re super important. Teens and adults need certain shots to stay safe and healthy. Some vaccines need boosters over time. It’s a quick and easy way to take care of yourself and the people you care about.

California Children Services

California Children Services (CCS) provides diagnostic and medical treatment services, medical case management, and physical and occupational therapy services to people under age 21 with certain chronic medical conditions and physical disabilities. Examples of CCS-eligible conditions include cystic fibrosis, hemophilia, cerebral palsy, heart disease, cancer, and traumatic injuries.
