NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
SHASTA COUNTY – Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency is making available for public comment a request for funding for its Mental Health Services Act, Innovation Plan: Finding the Hero. The public has an opportunity to provide input regarding this document through a 30-day public comment period. An electronic copy of this document can be found at www.shastamhsa.com. Hard copies are available upon request by contacting mhsa [at] shastacounty.gov (mhsa[at]shastacounty[dot]gov).
Finding the Hero is a behavior education program tailored to the needs of behavior disorder students, their teachers, and classmates, which has proven quite effective at an elementary site in Burney, CA. Burney, CA is a small rural community of 3,767 people. A former educator and dedicated woman, Sarah Clark, has developed this service over the past few decades. The goal of this program is to expand services to those in need in the Burney community to improve outcomes for children and youth.
