TRANSFER COMPLETE: HOUSING FUNDS MOVE FROM COUNTY TO CITY

SHASTA COUNTY – SHASTA COUNTY – Last September, the City of Redding assumed the role of the administrative entity for the NorCal Continuum of Care (CoC). On January 26, 2024, Shasta County successfully transferred all required Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention (HHAP) funds to the City of Redding.

Over the past seven years, Shasta County has been privileged to serve its community by administering millions of dollars in essential funding to address homelessness in the region. The county is grateful for the opportunity to have played a crucial role in the coordination and distribution of funds, ensuring that essential resources reached those in need.

In alignment with the recent changes in leadership within the NorCal CoC, all providers will submit reimbursement requests for HHAP 1, HHAP 2, and HHAP 3 directly to the City of Redding. The City of Redding has taken on this task and will be the point of contact for any financial transactions related to HHAP funding.

The county expresses its sincere gratitude for the collaboration and support it has received throughout its tenure as the administrator of HHAP funds for the region. The county is confident that the City of Redding, as the new administrative entity, will provide the necessary continuity and support to ensure the effective utilization of funds for the betterment of greater community.

Looking ahead, Shasta County remains committed to actively participating in the NorCal CoC as a valued member. The county is eager to continue its collaborative efforts to address homelessness and contribute to the overall well-being of the local community.
