  • Around the Table: Nourishing Families is designed to build food, nutrition, and cooking literacy, while integrating social emotional learning and using trauma-sensitive facilitation.  Participants cook and eat together, share memories and stories about food, explore their personal relationship to food, improve cooking and food resource management skills, learn about nutrition for good physical and mental health, explore healthy coping and self-nourishment skills, menu planning, practice mindful eating, grounding, and gratitude.  This program prioritizes relationship building, joyful experiences, safety and trust, empowerment, and self-care.  Around the Table: Nourishing Families is a free, six-week adult curriculum designed for groups of 10 to 14 adults raising children. 
  • Color Me Healthy is designed to reach children ages 4 and 5 with fun, interactive learning. It is designed to stimulate all of the senses of young children through touch, smell, sound, and taste.  The program uses color, music, and teaches children that healthy eating and physical activity are fun. This curriculum is designed for family daycare homes, preschool classrooms, and childcare centers serving 4- and 5-year-oldsColor Me Healthy includes 12 lessons to use during Circle Time, six imaginary trips, Color Your Classroom ideas to make the classroom come alive, and ideas for teachers to model healthy eating and an active lifestyle. There are four picture card sets, three classroom posters, seven original songs, and parent newsletters.  If your facility serves 4- and 5-year-olds and is interested in offering this curriculum, please see contact information below. 
  • Fun With Senior Fitness (FWSF) promotes physical activity for adults aged 50 and above. We are always seeking individuals interested in volunteering to teach a FWSF class. Prior teaching experience is not necessary. Training is free. Materials are provided. If you are interested in teaching fun, low-impact fitness classes and help seniors maintain their strength, balance, and independence, become a FWSF instructor today! If you would like to become an instructor, please see contact information below. FWSF classes are offered throughout Shasta County.   • Nutrition Pantry Program (NPP) is a healthy pantry program that addresses the policy, systems and environment of food distribution sites with a trauma-informed approach. Our NPP-trained implementers work with local food distribution partners to make community connections, improve the environment by making the healthy choice the easy choice, improve waste reduction, gather client feedback, and provide nutrition education. If you work with a local food pantry or distribution site that is interested in NPP technical assistance and resources, please see contact information below.
